Pastor Dave and Naomi

Encounter Church exists to be an authentic, vibrant, and growing community of faith and love, gathering people from all nationalities and backgrounds into a life-changing relationship with Jesus, discipling them, and equipping them to have an impact on the Costa del Sol and the world for Christ.

The church is located in La Cala de Mijas, between Fuengirola and Marbella in the province of Málaga.

The church was established in 1992 and currently is pastored by Dave and his wife Naomi. 

Pastor Dave is an Elim UK ordained minister who moved to Spain in 2009 and in 2013 joined and took over the leadership of the Calahonda church, which subsequently became an Elim global church and then joined Elim Spain and is today known as Encounter Church.

Both Naomi and Dave are credentialed Elim missionaries from the UK.

Alongside their Sunday gatherings, they also have midweek house groups and other events throughout the year.

Their meetings are in English, but they worship in both English and Spanish, and if needed, translation into Spanish is offered.

They have and continue to strive to build good, strong relationships with the town hall and other local businesses. They recently did a prayer walk around their town, praying for its prosperity and praying for those who live there or holiday there.

In a warm, friendly, and life-giving environment, you will feel at home right away.

A place for anyone and everyone.

They believe as a community that they are to equip people as best they can for their responsibility of personal discipleship, and they seek to teach the foundations of the Christian faith as well as some deeper topics in their small groups.

A short-term mission trip could entail.

  • Leading a talk in a small group,
  • Leading a young adult group.
  • Testimonies at our Sunday gathering.
  • Leafleting and praying for the area.
