Pastora Patricia and Antonio

Elim International Christian Community is situated in a town called Almuñécar on the coast of Granada in Spain. Patricia Mingorance, is an Elim España ordained minister and together with husband Antonio began a Christian fellowship there in 2004 and over the years have seen many changes. They have met in several different places, starting out in a flamenco bar, moving to a hotel, and using the meeting room of a local Spanish Pentecostal church, to mention a few, before acquiring a meeting place of their own which now gives more freedom for ministry.

The core congregation is small but growing and there is an ‘extended congregation’ of people who visit the town regularly but don’t actually live there. Because of the fluid nature of people coming and going all the time it has been difficult to set up outreach programs but recently, through working together with the YWAM group now based in the town, there are various opportunities to be part of outreach to children and young adults, particularly in the summer and on other various fiesta occasions. There are also ample opportunities to be involved in worship, leading bible studies and prayer meetings, and bringing God’s Word at the Sunday service.

Because the town is very cosmopolitan with many nationalities living there the ministry is predominantly English speaking although services can be translated into Spanish. The vision has always been to see people saved and become disciples of Jesus Christ according to Matthew 28:19 – 20, and because of the multi-cultural population of the town, it can be challenging but also exciting to see people come into their God given purpose.
